HISTORY: Starting his DJ career in å87 this seasoned master spent
his younger days sneaking into clubs to hear the likes of Frankie Knuckles,
Ron Hardy, and Lilπ Louis. These early roots in the Chicago Acid
House scene, has shaped his sound and attitude towards music. His approach
is one of an open mind towards music and mixing as well.
With an extensive knowledge of old disco and the roots of house music,
DJ Foxx is one of those guys that will always keep you on your toes musically
and technically.
DJ Foxx has also had a strong list of production credits to his name
including
the top ten european hit "You Donπt Have To Worry" under the alias
Rhythmcentric. One installment of Rhythmcentric, "New School Fusion" with
partner DJ SensÈ, has been a been making the rounds across Europe as well
finding itπs way on labels like Legato, Kosmonova, Blanco Y Negro. It has
also made it onto a handful of high profile CD compilations such as Global Undergroundπs "Nu
Breed by Lee Burridge".
DJ Foxxπs "Collective EP", the first record on Casa Del Soul Records
went down well with the London club scene. In particular, with Craig Richards
and Lee Burridge at the club, "Fabric". It was also played by the infamous
Mr. C on the Essential Mix, Radio 1. If this wasnπt enough, another Rhythmcentric
project on Denverπs own Look At You records "Come To Me" was
a top pop record in South Africa boasting a video on MTV South Africa! When
it
comes to his production skills, DJ Foxx keeps his magic touch by keeping a
keen ear to the street and tapping in to his instincts.
On the DJ tip, Foxx has been a featured DJ with the likes of David Morales,
Derrick Carter, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri from Dee-Lite, Bad Boy Bill, Scribble,
and a huge
list of other top talent from around the globe. Heπs played gigs in Puerto
Rico, New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, New Jersey, Long Island, Oklahoma City,
Portland, and San Francisco.
Locally DJ Foxx holds down three club residencies along with other gigs on
a regular basis. He is most definitely one of the hardest working DJπs in
the Denver scene and beyond. This hard work ethic also comes across in his DJ
sets. This is not a DJ that will just stand behind the tables "doinπ his
thing", DJ Foxx is a one man show.
